This is one of the first baby quilts I made quite some time ago now. This one came from a kit but is a lovely design that would work with all sorts of baby fabrics. I gave this to a friend for her little boy and when I had my son in November 2011 she returned it to me! It's been well loved. If you'd like to make a baby quilt look out for our class in the new year
This quilt has been labelled the 'elephant pregnancy' because it took a long time to make. I moved house quite a few times whilst making it and due to its size I struggled for space to layer the quilt and get it finished. This design featured in British Patchwork and Quilting Magazine in 2006 and was a real pleasure to make. I completed the binding on the quilt just days before my little boy arrived last year. We all have those unfinished projects lurking about don't we! It's so nice to see this one finished and I shall enjoy snuggling up with it this winter
Look out for our quick and easy pinwheel quilt quilt class!
The Schlep bags are great fun to make. The beach bag now belongs to my mum and the green one was made out of scraps and left over fabrics. It's my current handbag and has loads of room for all the essentials
If you fancy having a go at making one of these then visit our classes and workshops page.
Cut 9 Patch Quilts in Progress during a 'Disappearing 9 Patch Quilt Class. This is a great class to help beginners get to grips with rotary cutting and piecing. This is called a disappearing cut 9 patch quilt because you make 9 beautiful blocks and then you recut! The pictures show the finished block and also the clever effect of cutting and redesigning. The possibilities are endless. If you fancy having a go check out our classes page. Lovely 9 patch blocks created by Sue and Sally, and later after they'd been busy with the rotary cutter!
These gorgeous patchwork cushions were made at a recent class and don't they look fantastic! Sally made this lovely cushion in time for Christmas and Annie made a lovely pair of cushions for her spare room! Our next cushion class is Wednesday 27th February 2013 if you fancy having a go!
Patchwork Teddy Bears
We introduced our patchwork teddy bear to customers at the Ardingly Quilt show in January and he went down a treat! He's proving popular and so I decided to run some patchwork bear classes. Our next class is 10th July 2013 for more information visit our classes and workshops page.
Here are some examples of beautiful bears our customers have made. More to follow shortly!
The Bear on the left is Rosie and she was made by Maureen for her new baby great grand daughter. The bow and the rose look lovely. The bear on the right was made by Helen at our first patchwork teddy bear class. Helen have the clever idea of adding a personalised applique patch which finishes him off nicely! More pictures to follow soon. If you've made one of our bears why not send in a picture and we can add it to the gallery!
